Beverage Japanese Sprits

Japanese Spirits

Japan is known for producing some of the most unique alcoholic beverages in the world. There’s a growing interest in nihonshu, shochu and awamori among a western audience – but that hasn’t stopped the Land of the Rising Sun from also exploring western categories. This is evident in the rise of Japanese rum, with many sake breweries trying their hand at making the spirit. The world of Japanese rum is one of experimentation and innovation and definitely worth discovering.

On the other hand, Japanese whisky has  established a solid reputation for producing some of the most sought-after  bottles which range from the smokiness akin to scotch to super-smooth blends. Japanese whisky may not have the multi-century lineage of other styles, but it has been around longer than most drinkers realise and there are some impressive labels to explore.
